Re: FY 2008 Notice of Dues & Updates Greetings from the International Headquarters of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc.! It is time to remit dues for fiscal year (FY) 2008! NPHC, Inc. operates on a fiscal calendar of January 1 to December 31. Annual dues are to be remitted by January 31 of a given FY. Undergraduate councils are responsible for dues in the amount of $100, Graduate councils of $200, Affiliate member organizations $1000, and Associate members $2000. Members remitting dues after February 15 must include a $25 late fee with annual dues. Per constitutional amendment at the 62nd National Convention in Dallas TX, (1) if a council has not been financial in the previous fiscal year that council is responsible for remitting dues for the previous and current year, as well as a $50 reactivation fee (Ex. Undergrad councils = $250.00; Graduate Councils = $450.00; Affiliate = $2050.00); and (2) if a council has not been financially active within a five year time period, that council must be re-chartered. Again, you are advised not to wait until the last minute to remit your dues. Your council’s financial status includes, and will reflect, financial obligations to your region as called for by your respective regional bylaws. Should you have questions or concerns as to your council’s financial status and/or account balance, please contact NPHC National Treasurer at  treasurer@nphchq.org.

On May 10, 1930, on the campus of Howard University, in Washington DC, the National Pan-Hellenic Council was formed as a permanent organization with the following charter members: Omega Psi Phi and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternities, and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta Sororities. In 1931, Alpha Phi Alpha and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternities joined the Council. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority joined in 1937 and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity completed the list of member organizations in 1996. The stated purpose and mission of the organization in 1930 was “Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.” Early in 1937, the organization was incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois and became known as the “National Pan-Hellenic Council, Incorporated.”
